Stiffe, Teddy Bear, Foundation for Astrid Lindgrens Childrens Hospital

Astrid Lindgren cared deeply about the well-being of all children, especially those without a strong voice. She envisioned a hospital where children not only received the best possible care but could also feel at ease, even during extended stays. To support this vision, Astrid lent her name to the new hospital in Solna, inaugurated in 1998.

The Foundation for Astrid Lindgren's Children's Hospital has, through generous donations, enhanced the experience for children and their families during their hospital visits. Initiatives include the Bokskogen library, Barnasinnenas Trädgård (Children’s Senses Garden), as well as providing games, toys, books, movies, and crafting materials. The foundation also organizes numerous activities, such as clown performances, Pippi Day, visits from celebrity Santas, and much more.

In 2009, the Stiffe teddy bear was created through a collaboration between Teddykompaniet and the foundation. For every Stiffe sold, 20 SEK is donated to the children, and this meaningful partnership continues to this day. Thanks to everyone who purchases Stiffe bears each year, we can contribute to creating a more enjoyable hospital experience for the children. In addition, every year, we donate teddy bears to the hospital to bring an extra bit of joy to the children in the hospital environment.
